Ikea Construction Part II (The Swedish Strike Back)

Who knew how many components actually go into the construction of a drawer? The Amish have it right with just pegs and dowels. My favorite part was having to screw directly into the particle board with out a starter hole. On the instruction sheet they have a picture of an awl – yeah, if I had an awl I’d use it! It was just plain awkward. But on my fourth hole, I had a good system down of riming out the particle board with my little screwdriver then using all my might to force the stupid screw in. Take that! Damn it. We better use this filing cabinet.

So now I have two draws completed. What’s kind of concerning me is however, is there aren’t holes for the handles to screw into. Hmm. I hope we have the right drawers we wanted. Stay tuned for construction part III – let’s hope I finish it by then. If not? Well, in part IV there will be lots more swearing.
