I’m Tense: Ebay, Broken Watch, & A Bike Accident

I really can’t put my finger on it, but I’ve had this ball of tension in the back of my neck for quite some time now. It’s like I just can’t stand people & the world in general. I’ve tried to be not tense, however this tension seems to just sit there like a fat woman in a handicapped parking space. I’ve tried calling my mom to talk, but she’s always busy cleaning the house and organizing for the big move. Needless to say I’m just one of the three things she’s working on at the moment. Then when I finally have the time to talk to her, most of the time I really don’t have much to say. If I don’t have that much to say, then why am I tense? I don’t know. This not knowing makes me tense.

So, today I woke up tense with a bit of stress piled in there as well. At 8:00 I checked my email to find that Ebay has cancelled my auctions (I never list stuff, so I was stunned). Apparently I had violated a intellectual property copyright law by posting pictures of the shirts I was selling by using pictures of the shirts from the J Crew website. Now, I wouldn’t do this if other auctions were not doing the same thing. In fact, that’s what gave me the idea to post pictures from the website along with pictures that I took myself. Crap, if I had known it was against intellectual copyright property law I wouldn’t have posted the stupid pictures! Ahh! So, now I’m more tense and annoyed at Ebay. I probably will not list the tops again but give them to a consignment store in town. Take that Ebay!

Around noon the stress had melted away (but the tension was still there). Hubby & I ate great sushi for lunch and chatted about nothing in particular. Then as we were getting into our accessible Honda Element a lady yelled from her car that she loved our car and a “How great!”. The tension knot got a bit tighter as I tried to smile at the woman. Yes, that’s right everyone now stare at us! Ug.

Then we went to a jeweller to re-size a ring hubby bought me for my birthday & to get my old watch fixed. The jeweler took out his jewelry loop thing and stared at my pretty little three stone vintage diamond ring. “Is the old?” He questioned. “Yes.” I said. And then he told me that metals (white gold) get brittle with age and that re-sizing the ring might be a problem. Super. He also said that he couldn’t fix my watch because the part he needed was really hard to find. “You might have to call the company.” He said. I think I’ll just go back to Gottschalks and buy another Guess watch. Tension!

On the way home we were driving along this lovely stretch of road where many bicyclists like to ride. Then we noticed a bicyclist riding straight into an SUV with a trailer on the back which was parked in the emergency lane. We thought for sure he saw it, but no. The bicyclist rode head on into the trailer! We pulled over and called 911, the poor guy was lying on the ground writhing in pain. Adrenaline to the rescue! I rummaged around for our fist aid kit, but soon realized that another woman who had pulled over had gotten her’s and was runny to the bicyclist. We couldn’t do much more than we did, so we left. Whew.

Now, as I type this. I’ve just gotten off the phone with my mom who was talking to my aunt and cleaning while talking to me. Meanwhile I’m trying to tell her about the bicyclist and she’s not paying any attention. Thanks. Tense! I’m tense! Ahh! But really I’m okay. Ooo the cloud cover just came in outside, I might have to go for a walk.
