Last night hubby and I were watching TV. This is not a rare occurrence, but what is rare is for us to be watching the commercials. You see, we have a DVR and because of it we hardly ever see those annoying little 30 second ads. So, there we were grumbling; our attention spans pleading for the show to start again. Then we saw it. It was an ad for SLO Jobs, I suppose it’s like a temp agency for San Luis Obispo. Anyway, they left out the word way on the screen telling people “There’s a better way to find and hire local employees”. Not the best way to showcase your company. I had hubby rewind and rewind again for me to see the typo and also for me to tape it. I can’t believe they let this get on the air! Now, I realize it’s only a local ad – but come on – couldn’t they have found a temp to at least check their ad?

Well, here’s the commercial (pay no attention to me laughing at the beginning):

Wow. Bob Harris is a “Sopranos savant”. He has analyzed the finale episode in such a way as to give meaning to the seemingly meaningless finale. I must say ‘wow’ again.

Today was the last taping of the show ‘Price is Right’ with the greatest host of a game show ever – Bob Barker. Just his kind smile and his way of not screaming at the his annoying jumping up and down contestants makes him my favorite host. I think Bob deserves a … NEW CAR!

It was sad to see the last show with him as the host today. I’ve been watching the show since birth and so has hubby. So, Hubby & I watched the ‘Price is Right’ this afternoon thanks to our DVR & like we always do, play along. Most of the time we were dead on with our wagering but there were times when we were drastically off. For instance, at the end of the show when they have the showcase, we guessed like $35,000 for one of the showcases and it was like $90,000. What!?! I guess that convertible and the two trips were quite pricey. The woman who won the showcase ended up netting like $140,000 in prizes. Wow, good for her. But really, it was dumb luck. I felt so sorry for this other contestant who had Plinko and only won $1,500. Then at the wheel her and the other woman who had all the prizes had to have a spin-off. The Plinko girl ended up with 50 cents and the other woman got a dollar. This just goes to show you that some people are just plane lucky and others not so much.

A scary moment occurred when a contestant was spinning the wheel in the showcase showdown and almost got her hair stuck in the wheel. Hubby winced at the TV and we both said in unison “Oh shit!” Then the poor woman fell over and another contestant had to help her up. Poor Melva – that was her name. Yes, poor Melva indeed.

So, I will miss Bob Barker. But he has helped control the pet population in our house. We’ve had all our pets spayed and neutered. Thanks Bob.

Much like the ending of Seinfeld I am once again sad I wasted many years of my life watching the Sopranos (especially the last few seasons). Apparently David Chase had planned this ending from the beginning. If I had known that little bit of info, I probably wouldn’t have watched this whole last season waiting for the finale. Basically the whole last season was just badly written, but I digress.

At first when the screen turned black I thought my DVR had crapped out & both hubby and I yelled at the TV with a deafening NO! But then the credits rolled and were looked at each other and just said WTF? That was the ending?! I could see where this ending built up the suspense with the “red herring” guys coming into the ice cream shop (both hubby & I thought they were at an Italian restaurant – & why not Visuvios?), and the suspense of whether or not Tony would be shot by these guys. Then the whole Meadow parking her car, what was that about?

Finally, I suppose this ending  leaves a good chance for a Soprano television “special”. Like an epilogue perhaps. However, if it’s anything like this finale, count me out.

Hubby & I watch a TV show on TLC called ‘Little People Big World’. It’s about a family named the Rolofs in which the husband and wife are little people (or dwarfs) as are one of their sons. Sounds boring, however the show is like the Osborns with out as much swearing. We can’t get enough of the show, and thus titled it “Little Crack”.

Last night we watched two of the episodes from our DVR and mused on the fact that we should have a show. It’s title could be ‘Crippled People.’ Then we thought about it for a second & realized our the show would basically involve us watching ‘Little People’ on TV. Ha ha! But really, the show would be good entertainment. Just think … us getting told how cute we are in grocery store isles, circling around and around a parking lot yelling at old people who’ve taken up the handicapped spots, well meaning religious freaks praying over us & soccer moms asking us if we need help at Target. Dramatic sections could be us stranded at the bottom of a staircase or trying to reach a box of cereal on the top shelf. Ooo, the drama! Meh, maybe someday we’ll have a show, but right now, I’m content to watch “Little Crack”.
